A prestigious family
THREE CENTURIES, NINE GENERATIONS
1715 – Jean Martell founded Martell Cognac House.
1868 – The Martell House became global and started exporting to China, Hong Kong and Japan.
1988 – The family sold the Martell Company to the Seagram Group and Patrick Firino Martell (Michel's father) is the chairman of the firm.
1994 – Michel Firino Martell, ninth generation, joined the business to promote and sell the family product.
2001 – The Martell label was taken over by Pernod-Ricard.
2002 – After having been working successively for both Seagram Americas & Asia and Pernod-Ricard, Michel joined other family businesses dedicated to the terroir of their wines and spirits.
2006 – Michel founded Elite Selection, a merchant house focusing on fine wines and super premium spirits.
2012 – Launch of the Michel Firino Martell label for limited edition series of fine champagnes and spirits.
